Preview: San Mateo vs. Aragon
San Mateo is 0-8-1 against Aragon since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The San Mateo Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Aragon Dons at 4:30 p.m. San Mateo's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Tuesday, San Mateo sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Capuchino. That's two games straight that San Mateo has won by exactly one goal.
Meanwhile, Aragon has not lost a match since December 18, 2023, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Terra Nova a 2-0 shutout. Aragon's winning goal came courtesy of Bailey Wong.
San Mateo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8-3 record this season. As for Aragon, their win bumped their record up to 13-3-2.
San Mateo came up short against Aragon in their previous matchup back in January, falling 3-1. Can San Mateo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
