Soccer Recap: Central Gwinnett Comes Up Short

Central Gwinnett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against the Collins Hill Eagles, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Central Gwinnett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Collins Hill are ranked 24th).

Central Gwinnett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Collins Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Gwinnett will take on Apalachee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Gwinnett will be up against Apalachee's rather soft defense (which has allowed three goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Collins Hill, they will face off against Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
