Softball Recap: Ralston's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Ralston won the last time they faced Platteview and things went their way on Saturday too. The Rams came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 6-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Makenzie Macrander made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Ochsner, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 games. Another player making a difference was Maddy Vukov, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Ralston hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Ralston's record now sits at 18-6. As for Platteview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-9.
