Guardian Angels Central Catholic dropped down to 6-4 on Saturday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers, falling 12-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bluejays, who until this match were averaging 3.9 runs allowed.

As for Bishop Neumann, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games.

For Bishop Neumann's part, the team relied heavily on Abby Furasek, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Furasek is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Stuhr, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Guardian Angels Central Catholic will take on rival Ponca at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Bluejays their first taste of in-conference action this season. Meanwhile, Bishop Neumann is set to face off against their familiar foe Wayne on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cavaliers 1, the Blue Devils 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
