Soccer Game Preview: East Union vs. Sierra

The East Union Lancers will face off against the Sierra Timberwolves at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. East Union is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.5 goals per game this season.

East Union's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Downey. Gabrielle McIntosh was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Sierra was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to Oakdale. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Timberwolves came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Mustangs are ranked 426th).

East Union has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matchups. As for Sierra, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3-2.
