Basketball Recap: Berkeley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Berkeley was feeling good fresh off their 54-5 takedown of Elite on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hayward Farmers on Wednesday. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Berkeley lost, don't look at Dalasia McDonald. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Hayward got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Liliana Aranda out in front who went 5-for-12 on her way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Veleztan, who shot 71% from the field en route to 10 points and three steals.

Berkeley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hayward, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Berkeley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-41 defeat against Jesse M. Bethel on the 11th. As for Hayward, they will venture away from home to square off against Rancho Cotate at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
