Baseball Recap: George Walton Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Morristown-Hamblen East on Friday, George Walton Academy came back down to earth. The Bulldogs lost 10-2 to the Cocke County Fighting Cocks on Saturday.

Braden Callaway made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Thomason, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

George Walton Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Cocke County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season.

George Walton Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Karns at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cocke County, they will take on Morristown-Hamblen East at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Fighting Cocks are facing the Hurricanes at the right time seeing as the Hurricanes are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
