Volleyball Recap: Antioch Sequoits vs. Rockford Christian Royal Lions
Antioch extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 10-23. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rockford Christian Royal Lions. The Sequoits were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royal Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.
As for Rockford Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 26-5 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 1st.
Rockford Christian found their leader in sophomore Odessa Bucciferro, who had ten digs. Lauren Iversen also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Antioch will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on the 28th. As for Rockford Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Richmond-Burton on the 18th.
