Basketball Recap: Clairemont Comes Up Short

Clairemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 38-17 to the Chula Vista Spartans. The Chieftains were down 36-9 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Leading Chula Vista to victory were Nyla Dixie and Isis Perez. Dixie posted nine points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Perez had nine points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Nancy Chavez, who put up seven points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Chula Vista, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clairemont will challenge Canyon Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chula Vista, they will take on Castle Park at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
