Soccer Game Preview: Gustine vs. Stone Ridge Christian

The Gustine Reds will head out to face off against the Stone Ridge Christian Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gustine took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Le Grand onto the board and left with a 2-0 win.

Meanwhile, Stone Ridge Christian entered their tilt with Waterford on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They won by a goal and slipped past the Wildcats 1-0. The Knights' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Gustine's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Stone Ridge Christian, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Gustine beat Stone Ridge Christian 2-0 in their previous matchup on January 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gustine since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
