Basketball Recap: Riley Rosales Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Enterprise

Shasta won the last time they faced Enterprise and things went their way on Thursday too. The Shasta Wolves managed a 52-47 win over the Enterprise Hornets. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Hornets are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shasta got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Rosales out in front who posted eight points. Cali Soule was another key player, putting up eight points.

Despite the loss, Enterprise saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Catherine Ahart put up 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ahart has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Graham, who scored 11 points.

The win made it two in a row for Shasta and bumps their season record up to 16-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Enterprise, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shasta will square off against Chico at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chico is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season. As for Enterprise, they will face off against Foothill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Foothill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Enterprise likes a good challenge.
