Basketball Recap: Canon-McMillan Triumphs

Canon-McMillan lost to Moon Area back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Canon-McMillan Big Macs slipped by the Moon Area Tigers 37-36.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canon-McMillan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Clair, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 15 points and five boards. What's more, Clair also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Izzy Bobitski, who posted ten points.

Moon Area's loss came despite strong showings from Maria Depner and Jaedin Griggs. Depner dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards, while Griggs put up 18 points and six steals. Griggs is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Canon-McMillan now has a winning record of 2-1.

Canon-McMillan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-42 loss against Franklin Regional on the 7th. As for Moon Area, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 41-19 victory against Lincoln Park Performing Arts on the 7th.
