Softball Recap: Perkins-Tryon Takes a Loss

Perkins-Tryon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Byng Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-3 on Thursday.

Perkins-Tryon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Byng, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-12 record this season.

Perkins-Tryon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Guthrie at 4:30 p.m. on March 24, 2026. As for Byng, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-2 defeat against Bethany on the 3rd.
