Basketball Recap: North Star Takes a Loss

North Star was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 42-24 fall against the Conemaugh Township Indians. The Cougars were probably out for revenge after losing 45-27 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Conemaugh Township was led to victory by Danika Black and Ashlyn Fetterman. Black posted eight points and eight rebounds, while Fetterman went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points. That's the most points Black has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Byer, who had four points and five rebounds.

North Star's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Conemaugh Township, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.

North Star and Somerset will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. North Star is facing Somerset at the right time seeing as Somerset is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Conemaugh Township, they and United will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
