Hopkins, Bishop Ireton crack rankings after impressive early-season wins.

Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) rolled through the field at the La Jolla Country Day Tournament and remains No. 1 in the MaxPreps Top 25 high school girls basketball rankings.

In the absence of MaxPreps All-American McKenna Woliczko, who is expressing optimism for a January return from injury, junior Tee McCarthy was named MVP of the tournament.

Sitting behind Mitty is No. 2 Ontario Christian (Ontario, Calif.), which is 9-0 with five wins coming by 50 points or more. Top-rated junior Kaleena Smith is averaging 33.5 points per night but is getting plenty of help from Tatianna Griffin (24.0 points per game), freshman Chloe Jenkins (20.5) and junior Dani Robinson (18.5).

No. 18 Hopkins (Minnetonka, Minn.) and No. 23 Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, Va.) are the lone newcomers to the rankings. Hopkins beat No. 20 Providence Academy (Plymouth, Minn.) to start the season while Ireton beat No. 24 Christ the King (Middle Village, N.Y.) at the Art Turner Memorial over the weekend.
