Recap: Exeter Monarchs vs. Reedley Pirates
The Exeter Monarchs have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Reedley on Wednesday. Exeter has not had much luck with Reedley recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Exeter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kylie Dias, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Dias is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Venegas, who scored six points along with five assists and three steals.
Exeter has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-8 record this season. As for Reedley, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Exeter will take on Selma at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Reedley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington Union at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington Union has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
