Bakersfield extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Cynthia Portis. The Drillers walked away with a 58-45 win over the Garces Memorial Rams on Tuesday with plenty of help from Portis, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 19 boards. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 47.7% shooting accuracy.

Janayah Meeks was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Garces Memorial's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Irene Bravo, who posted five points along with seven steals and six boards. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Liggons, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Bakersfield's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Garces Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Bakersfield will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Righetti at 5:30 p.m. on the 27th. As for Garces Memorial, they will face off against East Bakersfield at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
