Basketball Recap: Strathmore Piles Up the Points Against Riverdale

Strathmore won the last time they faced Riverdale and things went their way on Monday too. The Strathmore Spartans breezed by the Riverdale Cowboys to the tune of 58-27. With the Spartans ahead 32-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Despite the loss, Riverdale still got an impressive performance from Karen Ayala, who posted 14 points.

Strathmore's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.8 points per game. As for Riverdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Strathmore will head out to challenge Woodlake at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Strathmore is facing Woodlake at the right time seeing as Woodlake is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Riverdale, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-18 loss against Sierra on the 4th.
