Basketball Recap: Pathways Starts off Right with Win over Scholar's Prep Academy

Pathways gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They really took it to the Scholar's Prep Academy Jaguars for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-49 win. The Eagles pushed the score to 56-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars had little chance of recovering from.

Pathways was led to victory by Roy Berry and Qadar Copeland. Berry shot 53% from the field to rack up 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Copeland went 10-for-13 en route to 27 points along with seven boards and six assists. Those seven boards gave Copeland a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonardo Mariscal, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Pathways wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-26 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 6th. As for Scholar's Prep Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Life Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 13th.
