Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the San Mateo Bearcats 54-21. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 929th, while the Bearcats are ranked 356th).

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for San Mateo, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Jefferson will look to defend their home court on Friday against Oceana at 6:00 p.m. Jefferson is facing Oceana at the right time seeing as Oceana is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for San Mateo, they will challenge Capuchino at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Capuchino: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while San Mateo has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
