Softball Recap: Jay Has No Trouble Against Deer Creek

12 must be Jay's lucky number: they beat Deer Creek with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Antlers with a sharp 12-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Breelyn Newkirk looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zariah Kingfisher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. Jordan Youngpuppy was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Jay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Jay's win bumped their record up to 3-18. As for Deer Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Jay will face off against Kansas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Deer Creek, they will challenge Hilldale at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Antlers will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
