Softball Recap: Grovetown's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

After a string of seven wins, Grovetown's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archer Tigers. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Jada Fulbright and Iman Wright did some serious damage despite the final result: Fulbright got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, while Wright earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base. Treasure Story was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Grovetown's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Archer, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.

Grovetown and Archer should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 32nd) will meet Newton (ranked 148th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Archer will take on Parkview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (37 vs. 178).
