Soccer Recap: Maquoketa Triumphs

Maquoketa took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Central DeWitt, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cardinals skirted past Central DeWitt 2-1. This was a revenge game for Maquoketa: when they faced off against Central DeWitt back in April, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

The victory made it two in a row for Maquoketa and bumps their season record up to 12-3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those two matches. As for Central DeWitt, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7-3.

Looking ahead, Maquoketa will head out on the road to face off against West Burlington on Thursday. West Burlington will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Maquoketa surely won't give up without a fight. Central DeWitt does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
