Basketball Recap: High Tech SD Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

High Tech SD's game on Tuesday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against the Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots by a score of 61-52. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Storm.

High Tech SD found their leader in freshman Poema Strong, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Strong has scored at least a third of High Tech SD's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylei Hayward, who posted 12 points along with five steals and four blocks.

High Tech SD smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

High Tech SD is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.

As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eastlake at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering Academy of Our Lady of Peace has lost seven straight at home and Eastlake four straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
