Softball Game Preview: St. Augustine Yellow Jackets vs. Ponte Vedra Sharks

St. Augustine is 0-6 against Ponte Vedra since March of 2020 but things could change on Monday. The Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to square off against the Sharks at 6:00 p.m. St. Augustine has given up an average of 15.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Augustine is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 22nd straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They lost 15-3 to Menendez.

Gus Campbell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Ponte Vedra's offense. They came up short against West Nassau on Thursday, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Sharks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

St. Augustine's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Ponte Vedra, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.

St. Augustine might still be hurting after the 17-0 loss they got from Ponte Vedra in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
