Baseball Game Preview: Montgomery Vikings vs. St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins

The Montgomery Vikings will face off against the St. Patrick-St. Vincent Bruins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Montgomery is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Branson 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, St. Patrick-St. Vincent came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Saints.

The team relied heavily on Xavier Brewer, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Mendez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Helena struck out nine times.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent's win bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10-1.
