Preview: Marion Center Stingers vs. West Shamokin Wolves
Marion Center has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the West Shamokin Wolves at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Marion Center is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Shamokin in Pennsylvania (Marion Center is ranked 24th, while West Shamokin is ranked 394th).
Last Thursday, Marion Center blew past Purchase Line, posting a 51-17 victory at home.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to West Shamokin, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They suffered a tough 60-34 defeat at the hands of River Valley on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Shamokin in their matchups with River Valley: they've now lost six in a row.
Marion Center's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for West Shamokin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Marion Center took their victory against West Shamokin in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 51-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marion Center since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
