With a playoff win on the line, Spring Grove rose to the challenge on Saturday. They took down the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons 35-20. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Spring Grove found their leader in sophomore Kya Peterson, who rushed for 114 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also threw for 103 yards on eight of 17 attempts.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Spring Grove proved: they limited Wabasha-Kellogg to a paltry 1.4 yards per carry. The Lions didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.8.

Spring Grove's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Spring Grove will face off against Mabel-Canton on Friday. Wabasha-Kellogg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
