Softball Recap: Effingham County Has No Trouble Against Metter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Effingham County). They came out on top against the Metter Tigers by a score of 11-6 on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Effingham County's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Metter, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Effingham County will head out to square off against South Effingham at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Metter, they will venture away from home to challenge Screven County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
