Basketball Recap: Pacific Union College Prep Gets the Win

There's no place like home for Pacific Union College Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 20-19 photo finish over the Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans on Thursday. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 55-17 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Achelynn Paul, who posted eight points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Taala Thompson, who put up two points and ten steals.

Pacific Union College Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Pacific Union College Prep Falcons duke it out with the North Hills Christian Eagles on Tuesday. As for Rio Lindo Adventist, they will face off against Trinity Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
