Soccer Game Preview: Upson-Lee vs. Jasper County

The Upson-Lee Knights will challenge the Jasper County Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Upson-Lee's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Upson-Lee fell victim to Sandy Creek and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 1-0. Brodee Hurt was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Meanwhile, Jasper County got the win against Towers two weeks ago by a conclusive 4-1. The result was nothing new for Jasper County, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

Jasper County's lineup was just a bit different two weeks ago as Parker Eaton got a bit more time on the pitch (29 vs. his season average of 14.6). Eaton made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Jasper County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven matchups. As for Upson-Lee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Upson-Lee took their victory against Jasper County in their previous matchup back in February of 2017 by a conclusive 4-1 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
