Elkhorn and Blair are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2020, but likely not for long. The Antlers are taking a road trip to face off against the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Elkhorn sitting on three straight wins and Blair on four.
While Elkhorn's victory against Scottsbluff wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Antlers had just enough and edged out the Bearcats 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Antlers have posted since September 8th.

The team relied heavily on Karlie Villwok, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn Wragge was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Blair put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Fremont. The Bears blew past the Tigers 14-0. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Taytum Macholan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Laynie Brown was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Emmi Hall also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Blair kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive contests.
Elkhorn's record now sits at 16-12. As for Blair, their record is now 22-6.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Elkhorn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Blair struggles in that department as they've averaged .396. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
