Softball Recap: Grandview Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mullen on Thursday, Grandview came back down to earth. The Wolves fell 11-8 to the Legacy Lightning on Saturday. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lightning apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Sasha Kennedy stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Monroe Donaldson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Grandview dropped their record down to 10-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Legacy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Grandview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 win against Smoky Hill on the 25th. As for Legacy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-1 victory against Fairview on the 25th.
