After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Vero Beach, St. Edward was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Merritt Island Christian Cougars as they made off with a 3-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Pirates have posted against the Cougars since October 18, 2022.

St. Edward's was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-20.

Nevin Waddell paced St. Edward's offense, picking up 12 kills. Waddell got some help from Margaret Fykes and her 26 assists. Waddell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

St. Edward's now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Merritt Island Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
