Basketball Game Preview: Line Mountain Eagles vs. South Williamsport Mountaineers

The Line Mountain Eagles will face off against the South Williamsport Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Line Mountain will be strutting in after a win while South Williamsport will be coming in after a defeat.

Line Mountain took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 46-27 victory over Mifflinburg.

Meanwhile, South Williamsport came up short against Central Mountain on Thursday and fell 62-55. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Line Mountain will need to focus on slowing down Ella Moore, one of several South Williamsport players who made an impact when they last played. She went 8-for-15 on her way to 23 points along with six steals and five boards. South Williamsport is 5-2 when Moore posts five or more steals, but 6-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Abby Akers, who posted 19 points and three steals.

The win got Line Mountain back to even at 11-11. As for South Williamsport, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 11-11.

Line Mountain came up short against South Williamsport in their previous matchup back in January, falling 38-29. Can Line Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
