Soccer Recap: Cedar Grove Comes Up Short

If Cedar Grove was riding high fresh off their 4-0 takedown of Douglass last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Cedar Grove lost 7-3 to the North Clayton Eagles on Thursday. Cedar Grove were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Clayton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2016.

Abdumalik Lawal and Mohammed Tamba scored all three of Cedar Grove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Cedar Grove dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for North Clayton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

Cedar Grove has already played their next contest, a 5-3 loss against Luella on the 25th. As for North Clayton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Sandy Creek on the 21st.
