Baseball Recap: Thompson Gets the Win

Thompson lost to Hillsboro/Central Valley on Thursday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Tommies walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Valiants. That's two games straight that the Tommies have won by exactly three runs.

The team relied heavily on Gavin Oster, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Loiland, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Thompson and bumps their season record up to 16-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Hillsboro/Central Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Thompson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Valiants: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
