Basketball Recap: Clovis Triumphs

Clovis won the last time they faced Central East and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars snuck past the Bengals with a 51-47 win.

Central East's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chyna Roland, who went 6-for-13 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Savana Chase, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Clovis' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Central East, they moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Clovis is set to face off against their familiar foe Buchanan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Central East will square off against rival Clovis West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
