Softball Recap: Monarch Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Monarch's offense. They came up short against the Broomfield Eagles on Thursday, falling 14-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Coyotes were not able to get on the board.

Monarch now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Broomfield, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.

Monarch will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Erie at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Coyotes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Broomfield, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against Frederick on the 25th.
