Baseball Recap: Spaulding Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Spaulding's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Windham Jaguars on Wednesday. The Red Raiders' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Spaulding got a good showing from Carter Hanson, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hanson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

Spaulding's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Windham, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Spaulding will take on rival Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Raiders 3.8, the Pioneers 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Windham is set to challenge their familiar foe Winnacunnet at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
