Recap: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. Carlsbad Lancers
If the Sage Creek Bobcats were riding high off their 56-35 takedown of the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sage Creek was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 43-42 to Carlsbad. Sage Creek has struggled against Carlsbad recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Sage Creek lost, one person who can't be blamed is Harmony Lawler. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. Lawler is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Addison Femrite was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Sage Creek has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season. As for Carlsbad, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
Sage Creek will play host again and welcome La Costa Canyon, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Carlsbad, they will head out on the road to take on Torrey Pines at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Torrey Pines is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
