Basketball Preview: North Hills Christian Eagles vs. North Rowan Cavaliers
The North Hills Christian Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Rowan Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (North Hills Christian is ranked 325th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 347th).
North Hills Christian struggled with assists on Friday (the Falcons had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. North Hills Christian had to suffer through a rough 97-52 loss at the hands of the Falcons. North Hills Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-32.
Champion Hayden put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 29 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That was a full 55.8% of North Hills Christian's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerrod Drye Jr., who scored ten points.
In what's become a running theme this season, North Rowan gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past East Davidson 81-54 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for North Rowan.
North Hills Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season. As for North Rowan, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
