Softball Recap: Sandy Creek Takes a Loss

Sandy Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 21-6 to the Mary Persons Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 15-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Sandy Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hosanna Antony, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Antony's first of the season.

Sandy Creek's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mary Persons, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Sandy Creek will challenge rival Troup County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mary Persons is set to face off against their familiar foe Whitewater at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
