Basketball Recap: Mountain View Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Cibola came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Mountain View, but Emma Fischbeck wouldn't allow it. The Mountain View Toros greeted the New Year with with a 56-37 victory over the Cibola Raiders thanks in part to Fischbeck, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game.

Mariana Vega and Leona Faulks certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Vega dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Faulks posted five points and nine blocks. Vega is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last ten games she's played.

Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Cibola, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-36 win against Rio Rico on the 3rd. As for Cibola, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-27 victory against Grand Canyon on the 3rd.
