Las Cruces and Centennial are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Bulldawgs will be playing at home against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Las Cruces is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Carlsbad, who was ranked 11th at the time (Las Cruces was ranked first). The Bulldawgs blew past the Cavemen/Cavegirls 53-28 on Friday. The victory was just business as usual for the Bulldawgs, who after nine games remain undefeated this season.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Daniel Amaro and BROCK WRIGHT. Amaro had a great game and rushed for 246 yards and four scores on only 15 carries. Meanwhile, WRIGHT was balling out in the loss, rushing for 151 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries.

Meanwhile, Centennial got the win against Clovis on Friday by a conclusive 48-26. The Hawks pushed the score to 41-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Las Cruces' win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Las Cruces has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging 218 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
