Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson vs. Dawson County

The Jefferson Dragons are taking a road trip to take on the Dawson County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jefferson was handed a three-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past East Hall 2-1. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Vikings are ranked 282nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Dawson County kept a clean sheet against Pickens on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Dragons. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Dawson County's record now sits at 4-5. As for Jefferson, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Everything went Jefferson's way against Dawson County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Jefferson made off with a 4-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
