Soccer Game Preview: Exeter vs. Tulare Western

The Exeter Monarchs will challenge the Tulare Western Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tulare Western took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Exeter, who comes in off a win.

Exeter is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Strathmore onto the board and left with a 7-0 win two weeks ago. Considering the Monarchs have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Strathmore with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Adyson Emerson (2), Annie Neufeld (2), Nicole Thompson (2), and Bri Beltran.

Meanwhile, Tulare Western came up short against Redwood on Monday and fell 4-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Exeter's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Tulare Western, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4-1.

Exeter suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Tulare Western when the teams last played back in January. Can Exeter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
