Soccer Game Preview: Bristol vs. Smithville

The Bristol Panthers will face off against the Smithville Smithies on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Smithville will be up against a hot Bristol team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Liberty on Thursday. Considering Bristol have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Liberty with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Wyatt Clisby (3), Logan Briggs (2), and Gus Workman (2).

Meanwhile, Smithville kept a clean sheet against Mathews on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 8-0 win. Given Smithville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Mathews are ranked 590th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Smithville's victory bumped their record up to 8-3-6. As for Bristol, their win bumped their record up to 15-2-1.
