Softball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Takes a Loss

If Vinton-Shellsburg was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of South Tama County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings came up short against the Trojans on Monday, falling 11-1. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 13-0.

Vinton-Shellsburg has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. South Tama County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-12.

Vinton-Shellsburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 win against Wapsie Valley on the 17th. As for South Tama County, they will take on Benton at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
