Baseball Game Preview: Oglethorpe County Patriots vs. Jenkins Warriors

The Oglethorpe County Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Jenkins Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Tuesday, Oglethorpe County got the win against Putnam County by a conclusive 9-2. Considering the Patriots have won three games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Jenkins never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Windsor Forest with a sharp 16-0 win. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Pedro Fabian made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Fabian was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jenkins got a massive performance out of Jackson McKenzie, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases McKenzie has posted since back in March of 2025. Ronald Dunham was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Jenkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Oglethorpe County's record now sits at 3-1. As for Jenkins, their record is now an identical 3-1.
